Introduction

「 Human Resource Cooperation and discipline Program of developing deep sea fishery industry」 was schemed based on 「Five-year program of accelerating fishery industry in Taiwan」 by The former fishery industry developing group in November 1968, and was submitted for execution.

According to the fifteenth workshop of Economic developing plan held by International Economic Cooperation Developing Committee of Executive Yuan and Taiwan Province Governmenton December 24th, 1968, the Fishery Training Center, which under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, was built up in Chenchien fishery port, Kaohsiung. From the next year, the center began to be organised and officially established on March 29th 1971. On July 1st 1985, it was given order by Executive Yuan to be administrated under Council of Agriculture(CA), Executive Yuan. On August 1st 1998, it was assigned to Fisheries Agency of CA, and renamed Deep Sea Fishery Research and Development Center until now.
