||Due to the scarcity of land resource in Taiwan, security and degree of self-sufficiency of food is a main topic to the country. Hance the project aims to analysize the situation of supply and demand of seafood and assesses its degree of self-sufficiency. Working items of this project are as follows mainly: 1. Study main factors concerned with degree of self-sufficiency of seafood, such as domestic production, supply, import and export, stocks and other uses of seafood in Taiwan, and analyzes the relationship among them. 2. Assess and investigate the quantity of stock and feed consumption of seafood. 3. Estimate the degree of self-sufficiency of seafood, using the general price and nutrition contained of seafood as the basis. Methods of the project include literature review, analysis of statistical data and interview to the experts concern with production, consumption and all the allocation of seafood. Several benefits will to be obtained for the project as follows: a. Improvement in the statistical procession and accuracy of Taiwan food balance sheet of seafood. b.Provision of a suitable self-sufficiency ratio of seafood for Taiwan fisheries policy. c.Provision of the statistical data of feed and stock of seafood in Taiwan.
