Oyster and saltwater samples were collected periodically from Dongkan area in southern Taiwan. Isolation of pathogenic pathogen were performed using MacConkey agar, Thiosulfate citrate bile sucrose（TCBS）and CHROMagar Vibrio. Species of V. alginolyticus, V. fluvialis, V. fluvialis, V. parahemolyticus. were isolated from seawater and visceral organs of oyster. No public health associated bacteria was isolated. Rickettsia-like organisms was observed in the tissue of mantle, gill under histological examination, and the number of this organism was not assocated the time and location of collection of the samples, however, no mortality was noted. Primer sets associated marine virosis were applied th these sample without significant fragments were amplified revealed that the sequence of oyster vibrio spp. is different from marine fish. |
